Ducks at Play

Last week on my day off we planned an outing to a neighborhood pond. As we were getting ready, I told the boys to go brush their teeth and comb their hair. I knew they were being too quiet. When I arrived in the bathroom, Keaton had fixed is own hair with gel and was working on Cort's. I had to wipe out some of the excess gel from Cort's hair. I think they used every product I had in my basket. But the end result was cute.

We took food to feed the ducks and turtles

And the ducks were hungry

As we were waiting for our friends to arrive, Keaton and Cort walked alongside the pond and the ducks followed.

Gage didn't want to miss out on the fun

We brought cut up apples, lettuce, and carrots for the turtles. We brought bread for the ducks. The turtles just wanted to eat the bread. Guess they were not in the mood for veggies.

After the ducks and turtles were full we played on the adjoining play ground.

After we left the duck pond, I ran by the dollar store to pick up some supplies for an afternoon project. Only I discovered the play center next to the dollar store was now open. We had been waiting for it to be finished for over a year it seems. Of course we had to check it out!

The design is very cool. It is sectioned off for different areas of imagination play.

Pirate Cort loved to play dress up. He is front of the puppet show room.

Fireman Keaton and Cort found a Policeman friend. There is a fire station pole for the kids to slide down and you can see some of the slides in the background.

The kids had a great time on this super hot day. Special bonus it was indoor play with A/C!! I am glad to have another option to take the kids besides Pump It Up. I am even keeping it as a possible birthday party location for Cort next year.

Spring Time Fun

As previously stated, the kids and I did manage to get out for some outings during my maternity leave. I did manage to get some photos, but it seems I didn't take my camera that often. Guess I was just glad to be out and about with three kids in tow.

I loved getting out early in the morning for a walk to the park. The kids would ride their bikes and play on the 'dirt ramps' some older kids built or climb trees. I loved the cool morning air and being outside. I took it all in knowing my peaceful mornings would not last forever. We spent most afternoons outside in the front yard riding bikes, scooters or playing ball with the neighbor kids. We would have popsicles or snow cones trying to keep cool.We cashed in some bowling coupons one Sunday afternoon.

The Blanco Family joined us for some funMark took the boys on an explore at the ranch in early June. They were able to explore a lot more than they did at Father's day. Father's Day weekend it had rained and was too wet. (Wouldn't want the truck or tractor to get stuck.......or flip, huh Mark?)

They tried to feed Hot Shot, the horse, a snack, but he is getting old and doesn't want to be bothered much anymore.
