Wax Museum-Nathan Hale

Cort participated in the Second grade Wax Musuem and choose to be Nathan Hale.  Who is Nathan Hale, you ask?  He fought in the Revolutionary War.  He crossed into enemy camp as a spy and was captured by the British and hung at the young age of 21.

 

His costume is made of white football pants, mom's black suit jacket, and I added ruffles to a white button up shirt.  We found the hat at Party City.

Each child is a wax figure until someone pushes their 'button'.  Gage pushed Cort's button and he came to life.

Cort memorized a speech about Nathan Hale to say for all the passerbyers.

Baptism

Cort was baptized at Copperfield Baptist church February 17, 2013 by the Children's Pastor, Ken Wheeler. 

 



 

 

We are so excited for Cort and his decision.  I look forward to watching him grow in his relationship with Christ and seeing all the wonderful blessing God has in store for him!

 

Dear Heavenly Father,
I thank you for this wonderful day in which we celebrated the salvation of our son Cort. Thank You for sending Your Son as our precious Saviour. I pray You will fill Cort's heart with a desire to love, know, honor and serve You. And that Cort will lead a life that will bring honor and glory to You.

Saying goodbye to the Brady's

We have been blessed to have some awesome neighbors.  Our kids love playing outside and the last couple of years they had the perfect playmates.  The Brady family lived several houses down on our cul-de-sac street.  They have 5 children and their oldest 3, Luke, Susan, and Kate, could be found playing outside most days with Keaton and Cort.  Ryan is just one year older than Gage and they also have an infant, Elizabeth. 

 

On any given day the kids would be riding bikes, playing ninjas, hide and seek, or jumping on Luke's trampoline.  They were the best of friends and I loved having such sweet kids as influences on my boys. 

 

The Brady family had a wonderful opportunity to move to Illinois and left our street and our hearts broken early December.  Keaton took it very hard and missed Luke every day for months.

And the morning of the big move.  The kids went out for breakfast.  Keaton and Cort were so upset, they stayed home from school.

 

If you can find any positive in your BFF moving to a different state, maybe a trampoline would do it.  The Brady family was generous to give us their trampoline.  It is not the same without Luke, but the kids have so much fun bouncing on it.  It is one way I get them back outside to play.  They say riding bikes and ripsticks are not much fun without your friends.

Mom's first Monster Jam 2013

As an extension of Cort's birthday, we gathered a large group to go to Monster Jam. 

We left Gage at home with Gee and Papa Dan, but maybe next year he will get to go too! 

It was my first time to go and I loved it.  I mean, that's what boy mom's do right?

One of the kid's favorite things to do is get autographs.  The lines were too long for the monster truck drivers, but we had time for the motorcross teams.
