Spring Fling and Season Opener

Keaton's Kindergarten had a Spring Fling Picnic this past Friday. We packed our picnic basket and a blanket to enjoy the beautiful spring day.

Saturday morning was our season opener game (since last week was rained out). We had pictures before the game and even a trip to Dunkin Donuts to load them up with sugar and Chocolate Milk....why not right? It was Cort's first trip to a Donut Shop. Mark took Keaton for the first time a couple of weeks ago when they were out running errands.

Keaton sat this game out and cheered from the sidelines, but he will be back on the roster next week.

And on Sunday morning he actually did catch one. You can't really see the bug in this picture, but I still thought it was cute.

Mamma Dove

We have a new addition in our backyard. A White Wing Dove has made a nest in one of my hanging baskets. She must have liked our Aggies sign, WHOOP! So we will get to watch the mamma care for her egg. Our picnic table is below this planter. You can tell she is watching us closely when we are all in the backyard. I just hope that when the little egg hatches, she is able to protect it from falling out of the nest or plant......Dixie and Lady are not very good bird caretakers. :(

TBall and K's latest

Okay, so the latest with Keaton.... The Sunday morning of Easter weekend, he crashed on his scooter and hurt his arm. We knew it was really hurt when he didn't use it the rest of the day, but just let it hang by his side. He could move it when we asked him to so we didn't rush off to the ER. (Note....I just took Cort to the ER the weekend before....we had been to 2 doctors appt since then with that same nasty stomach virus....on the drive to one Mark and I almost panicked and went to the ER again with Cort...) Anyway, Mark took Keaton to the doctor the next Monday had it X-rayed and it is just sprained. He has to wear this splint for 2-4 weeks. So his activity is limited for now.

Other news, the kids are playing TBall (even though I said we might not...apparently I do love the chaos) We lucked out and the kids are on the same team this year in addition to a lot of kids from our small group. The coach is one of our small group members. Our first game was rained out this past weekend, but here are some pictures from tonight's practice.

Flowers in Bloom

We recently took a trip to Gilmer. The main reason for our trip was to visit with my Grandmother, NaNee, who is ill. She has Colon Cancer that has now spread to her liver. She has good days and bad days, but we had a good visit with her.

It was a sunny weekend and on our drive to Gilmer we passed some beautiful patches of flowers including Blue Bonnets. I have always wanted to take pictures of the kids in a blue bonnet patch, but we have never made the drive out to Brenham as many of our friends have. When we arrived in Gilmer the flowers were in full bloom. These are the Azalea's in front of Gee's house.

In the field behind my parent's house, there was a beautiful patch of wild flowers and Mark took some pics of the kids.

And this was my view on the way home. My two beautiful children. You would never guess the drama that played out once we got home. Cort became so violently ill I took him to the ER. It ended up being some nasty stomach virus. All is well now.

Easter at the Creek

We spent Easter weekend at the creek. The weather wasn't the best, but we still had a great time with our cousins Kayla and Ryan.

We had an Easter Egg Hunt as Grandmother and Grandfather watched


Nana bought us this really cool Roller. We all took turns rolling down the hill.

So, I can remember when the boys were around 12-18 months old, a bucket of water could be at least 30 minutes of fun on a summer day. Well, when they are

4-7 years old, ADD FISH....instant fun!
